Description

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is already part of everyday work — and most employees never received any training on what that means for them. This awareness course closes that gap.

ISO/IEC 42001 is the first international standard for an AI Management System (AIMS). It defines how organisations should govern AI responsibly across the full lifecycle. But ISO 42001 only works if every employee understands their part. That is what this course is for.

Built around a realistic model company — Aurelia Health Solutions, a mid-sized European health insurer working through its own ISO 42001 programme — the course is scenario-driven, non-technical, and squarely aimed at general staff: claims handlers, customer-service agents, marketing, HR, operations, and anyone whose work touches AI.

What you will leave with:

  • A clear, plain-English mental model of ISO 42001 and how an AIMS actually works inside an organisation.

  • The ability to recognise the four most common AI failure modes — bias, hallucination, privacy harm, security — in your own workflow.

  • Practical habits for using AI tools responsibly: safe prompts, data minimisation, output review, approved-tools discipline.

  • An escalation routine that fits how real organisations triage AI concerns and incidents.

  • A personal AI use charter for your specific role, built in the second assignment.

What is in the course

  • 13 short video lectures (~90 minutes total) across 5 sections.

  • 4 section quizzes (20 questions) with detailed explanations.

  • 2 hands-on assignments with model answers.

  • A 40-question final practice exam mapped to the four knowledge areas of the course.

How this course is different. It is awareness training, not a clause-by-clause certification course. The vocabulary, the examples, and the assignments are written for the people who will live with AI day to day — not for auditors and not for data scientists. If you are looking for ISO 42001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor depth, you will want a different course. If you are looking to bring an entire workforce up to a usable baseline before deeper governance training kicks in, this is exactly that.

By the end you will know enough to be useful, careful, and confident around AI at work — and to contribute to the AIMS your organisation is building.

Who this course is for:

  • Any employee whose work touches AI — claims handlers, customer-service agents, marketing, HR, operations, support functions.
  • Managers and team leads who need awareness-level understanding before sponsoring or deploying AI tools.
  • New hires going through onboarding at organisations adopting ISO 42001 or building an AI Management System.
  • ISO 27001 / ISMS practitioners adding AI governance to their existing management-system toolkit.
  • Compliance, risk, audit, and data-protection professionals who want a plain-English orientation before deeper training.
