Texture a complete scene in Substance 3D Painter, from project setup and mesh maps to a full texture workflow using provided assets, then export textures and render.
Load your scene in Substance Painter, choose a PBR metallic roughness with subsurface scattering starter, set 2048 resolution, assign materials to model parts, and adjust lighting before baking mesh maps.
Set up texture folders and masks for vol, floor, tiles, curtains, and window glass, then apply height maps to drive normals and refine color with anchor points for roughness.
Texture a hardwood floor in Substance 3D Painter by building height with base textures and grayscale masks. Experiment with tiling, directions, and planar projection to create varied, realistic planks.
Create blue and black plastic materials, metallic parts, glass, and aluminium textures in Blender, organize into folders, and adjust masks, roughness, and opacity for realistic surfaces.
Texture the dining chairs in Substance 3D Painter, add materials to chairs and carpet, adjust height maps, masks, and stitches, and create color variations with anchor points.
Create a dining table material in Substance 3D Painter by applying layered textures, masks, and roughness maps, then refine colors, patterns, and imperfection details for realism.
Learn to texture a complete pot scene in Substance 3D Painter by crafting copper and aluminum metal materials with base aluminum, masks, color layers, and curvature and occlusion maps.
Finish texturing a complete table dish scene in Substance 3D Painter by adjusting opacity, layering dirt and roughness, masking areas, and applying ambient occlusion for realism.
Organize the meat assets into folders, apply a base material with projection, and paint textures to build a natural meat look with dirt, ambient occlusion, and black masks.
Clean up the scene by refining base color and normal maps, adjusting roughness, height, and opacity, and balancing dirt, metallics, and fabric textures across furniture and surfaces.
Finish texturing by refining roughness, scattering, and metallic properties, applying masks and layers to create realistic organics and props, then export textures for rendering.
Do you want to learn how to texture an entire scene in Substance 3D Painter?
Then I welcome you to Texturing a Complete Scene in Substance 3D Painter
WHY SHOULD YOU LEARN FROM ME:
My name is Hamidreza Afshari and I have been a 3D Artist for animation and VFX for about 8 years now. I have worked on many short animations and a few long animated movies.
By the end of this course:
You'll be able to Texture a complete scene with different materials like wall, metal, plastic, wood, steel etc.
You will be able to Render inside Substance 3D Painter and export textures for any render engine..
WHAT WILL I LEARN:
Texturing a complete scene from start to finish
Baking Mesh maps
Making texture for organic and non-organic assets
Render with IRay
Export textures for other render engines
COURSE PROJECTS:
We will start by creating a new project and baking the mesh maps.
Then we're going to make textures for all of our assets one by one with Substance 3D Painter provided resources.
After finishing texturing, we are going to export our textures for Arnold render engine and make a custom export template
Finally, we’re going to render our scene with Nvidia iray
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR ME: This course is for 3D artists interested in texturing a complete scene with Substance 3D Painter.
WHO IS NOT THE IDEAL STUDENT: This is not a starter course and you need to have basic knowledge about Substance 3D Painter.
WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW OR HAVE FOR THE COURSE:
This course is not covering the modelling part. The course 3d models are included in the Project files.
You should have Substance 3D Painter version 7.4 and above.
